Become a Disability Confident employer

The Disability Confident scheme is an initiative established by the Government in 2013, aiming to challenge negative attitudes to disability employment and promote equal opportunities for all individuals who can work.

Achieving Disability Confident Leader status acknowledges the Trust’s efforts to support people living with a disability to gain employment within the organisation, as well as its ongoing work with businesses to support and employ disabled people.

All our people have at least twelve years relevant business and social enterprise experience so they can understand the business problems and issues faced by our clients. They each have an extensive track record of successful delivery encompassing business planning, process and financial solutions. They possess the ability to listen to clients and provide honest, impartial navigation to a realistic goal.

What is the Disability Confident scheme?

The Disability Confident scheme supports employers like you to make the most of the talents disabled people can bring to your workplace.

The 3 levels are designed to support you on your Disability Confident journey:

  • Committed (level 1)
  • Employer (level 2)
  • Leader (level 3)

The scheme helps employers think differently about disability, and improve how they attract, recruit and retain disabled workers. It doesn’t matter whether your business is small or large, everyone can become part of the scheme.

What Clients Are Saying

An excellent presentation from Julie I hope she can come back to do a follow up.

I’m so inspired to get my business off the ground, I am confident that no other innovative project such as ‘Crocus Market’ exist and I would love the chance to support budding entrprenuers to promote their products and services and offer consultation to enable their business to grow.

Oliver Goodman

The customer service NVQ has been very positive for me. Julie Lawn knows that I never finish what I start.
There has been some hurdles that I have had to jump – even at the starting block, but it was great to get on the wavelength of the course. I have now finished across the line, my line and the Axa red Line
I am very much interested in another NVQ level for the future.
Its all down to Julie and a few members of my workmates in the department, in giving me confidence and letting me know more about my role at AXA.”

RS, Axa Assistance

Cute Dog’s Project Management course literally had me jumping off my seat with enthusiasm! I ran back to my office to encourage ALL of my team to go to the next course! It was the most useful 2 days training I have ever had!
